Transmetrics’ Spotlight: 10 Years of Excellence in Marta Stefanova’s Remarkable Journey at Transmetrics

This year, Transmetrics celebrated 10 years since its foundation – 10 years of delivering innovative Big Data, AI, and predictive analytics technologies to the logistics industry. However, at the center of all these developments always were, and always will be people – the masterminds and the analysts, the engineers and the data scientists, the logistics experts and the business professionals. In this series of interviews, we want to highlight Transmetrics’ key people and let them speak their minds about their experience and what it takes to make the logistics industry better.

We want to begin this series by introducing Marta Stefanova, an exceptional and radiant person who has been an invaluable part of Transmetrics since the beginning. With her dedication and diverse skills, she has moved through various roles within the company, leaving an indelible mark at every step. She recently moved to a new role as a UI/UX designer, bringing her creative flair and attention to detail to shape Transmetrics’ user experiences. In this interview, we explore Marta’s story and what makes her experience at Transmetrics special and everlasting.

What motivated you to join Transmetrics and what has kept you here for 10 years?

My journey with Transmetrics began when I met Asparuh Koev, the CEO and co-founder of the company. After completing my Master’s in Logistics and Supply Chain Management in Germany, I was intrigued by Asparuh’s transparency and innovative vision during our interview. Despite the limited four-month position he offered due to the start-up nature of the company, I was captivated and eager to contribute to his pioneering ideas

Two vital factors have kept me at Transmetrics for a decade. Firstly, I am privileged to work with remarkable colleagues who create a great work environment. Their dedication and expertise make Transmetrics feel like a second home.

Secondly, the constant development of our product has been a driving force in my commitment. Witnessing the evolution and growth of our innovative solutions has been really inspiring. This dynamic environment provides countless opportunities for personal and professional growth, allowing me to adapt to emerging industry trends.

What do you enjoy most about working at Transmetrics?

The collaborative nature of our work is truly remarkable. Every day, I have the opportunity to work with incredibly talented individuals who bring diverse perspectives and expertise to the table. The synergy within our team creates a supportive and motivating atmosphere, where we can learn from each other and collectively contribute to the success of our projects.

Another thing that I deeply appreciate about working at Transmetrics is the emphasis on personal and professional growth. The company invests in its employees’ development by providing ample learning opportunities, whether through training programs, industry conferences, or internal knowledge-sharing initiatives. This commitment to growth has allowed me to continuously expand my skill set and stay at the forefront of industry trends.

How would you describe the company culture at Transmetrics, and can you share your journey and growth within the company over the past 10 years?

I would say that our company culture at Transmetrics radiates positivity and energy. We work hard, celebrate successes, and maintain a healthy work-life balance. There’s a strong sense of camaraderie, creating a motivating environment for personal and professional growth.

During my 10-year journey at the company, I initially joined as a business analyst. Over time, I expanded my role to also cover administrative tasks and collaborated with various teams including data engineers, data scientists, developers, marketing, and administration. These experiences broadened my knowledge and provided insights into different areas of expertise within the company.

I’ve also experienced pivotal moments like maternity leave, where I received incredible support from my colleagues, ensuring a seamless return. The inclusive and welcoming environment has been instrumental in my growth.

What has been the most rewarding project or accomplishment you’ve been a part of at Transmetrics?

Having been with Transmetrics since its inception, it’s challenging for me to pinpoint just one specific project or accomplishment as the most rewarding. To me, every milestone achieved, whether it’s acquiring a new customer, developing a new feature, creating a new user interface, launching a new product, or generating a fresh idea, is a source of great satisfaction and accomplishment.

However, if I were to highlight one recent significant achievement, it would be my involvement in the EU’s Horizon 2020 project. Due to unforeseen circumstances, I found myself responsible for completing the final steps of the project, which were crucial for securing the necessary financing. Despite the challenges, I embraced the opportunity and took charge of the task at hand. With determination and support from my colleagues, I successfully navigated through the final stages of the project, ultimately ensuring its successful completion. It allowed the company to secure the EIC grant and develop our solutions even further.

How have you seen the company change and evolve since you first joined?

Since joining Transmetrics, I’ve witnessed remarkable changes and evolution. Initially, we had one product, but we’ve expanded our offerings over the years to address customer and industry needs. 

We adapt to changing demands by improving existing products, introducing new features, and developing innovative solutions. We embrace AI advancements to enhance the accuracy, efficiency, and intelligence of our products. Our team has grown seven-fold, attracting talented individuals with diverse skills. Our workspace has also transformed, expanding to accommodate our team and reflecting our scalability and ambition.

In your opinion, what sets Transmetrics apart from other companies in the industry?

I think what makes Transmetrics a unique company is the combination of advanced predictive analytics and logistics expertise, customer-centric approach, and collaborative culture. These factors contribute to our ability to deliver impactful solutions and drive positive transformation in the logistics and supply chain field.

What advice would you give to someone who is just starting out at Transmetrics?

If you want to join our amazing team, here are some tips I would give you: Embrace learning opportunities, foster collaboration, be proactive and solution-oriented, embrace a growth mindset, seek mentorship, embody Transmetrics’ values, and maintain work-life balance. What are some of the most important skills you’ve developed during your time at Transmetrics?

One of my key strengths lies in data analysis and interpretation. I have gained expertise in working with large datasets, extracting valuable insights, and making data-driven conclusions.

Additionally, working in a complex industry has sharpened my problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities. I have developed a systematic mindset that enables me to approach challenges from different angles and develop innovative solutions. Collaboration and teamwork are also essential in any professional setting, and at Transmetrics, I have honed these skills. I have even recognized the importance of time management and prioritization which are crucial in a fast-paced work environment of software development. Balancing multiple tasks and projects has sharpened my ability to manage time effectively and prioritize tasks based on their importance and deadlines.

In your new role within the UI/UX team at Transmetrics, what currently inspires you and what are your future goals?

This opportunity allows me to combine my creativity and problem solving skills to create meaningful and user-centered projects. What inspires me most in this role is the opportunity to positively impact the user experience and change the way people interact with digital products.

As for my goals for the future, I’m looking to further develop my expertise in UX/UI design by keeping up with industry trends, learning new design tools and techniques, and continuously improving my skills. I strive to create intuitive and visually appealing designs that not only meet user needs, but exceed their expectations. I also have the wonderful opportunity to collaborate with cross-functional teams, including developers and product managers, to create cohesive and seamless user experiences.

I am sincerely grateful for their trust and support during this transition. Thanks to their belief in my abilities and their commitment to fostering professional growth, I was able to embark on this inspiring new role. I look forward to contributing my skills and creativity to the success of the company and continuing to make a positive impact in the field of customer experience.
