About us

Transmetrics Project

The Transmetrics Project embarks on a comprehensive journey to refine and expand the capabilities of Transmetrics’ innovative solution for predictive logistics. This endeavor is structured around three pivotal areas, each contributing to the evolution and widespread adoption of the Cargo Capacity Forecaster.

1. Solution Enhancement: In the initial phase, the project focuses on refining the Cargo Capacity Forecaster based on insightful feedback gathered during small-scale trials. Core features and algorithms undergo development to enhance accuracy, operational forecasting timescales, and validation against diverse datasets. Simultaneously, the product’s implementation evolves to accommodate a broader range of logistics segments, improve user interfaces, and establish a more scalable SaaS cloud infrastructure.

The envisioned outcomes include improved Cargo Capacity Forecaster algorithms and a more sophisticated implementation, setting the stage for a robust and adaptable logistics solution.

2. Real-world Validation through Commercial Trials: The project advances to the crucial stage of validating Transmetrics’ solution in commercial trials involving early adopters from the logistics industry. Technical and economic performance are scrutinized across three transport segments, showcasing the tool’s efficacy in optimizing linehaul utilization, reducing environmental impact, and enhancing long-term capacity commitments. The deployment performance is also fine-tuned, ensuring seamless integration and operability for logistics industry operators.

The anticipated results encompass thorough implementation and cost-benefit analyses from commercial trials, laying the groundwork for effective deployment methodologies.

3. Industry Collaboration and Adoption: Recognizing the importance of industry collaboration, the project actively involves logistics industry ICT suppliers, associations, and competence centers. White papers detailing advanced transport capacity operational forecast tools are published and disseminated through industry associations. To foster user engagement, a user association is established within logistics industry operators and other end-users. Additionally, commercialization activities are prepared, laying the groundwork for the broader adoption of Transmetrics’ solution.

The expected outcomes encompass the formation of an external advisory board, the creation of white papers and promotional materials, the establishment of a user association, and the development of a robust partner ecosystem.

In summary, the Transmetrics Project strategically navigates through solution refinement, real-world validation, and industry collaboration, aiming to revolutionize predictive logistics and drive widespread adoption across the logistics landscape.

Transmetrics Project Goals and Funding

The Transmetrics Project aligns seamlessly with the broader Work Programme on smart, green, and integrated transport. Positioned to address critical challenges within the European transport sector, the project makes a substantial contribution in two key areas:

1. Enhancing Efficiency and Sustainability: The European transport sector faces the imperative of delivering top-notch products and services in a timely and cost-efficient manner while addressing environmental and mobility challenges. The Transmetrics Project responds to this need by offering an optimization solution for the European freight transport sector. This solution holds the potential to significantly enhance profitability and contribute to the decarbonization of the supply chain. By reducing unused container and cargo transport capacity, the project aims to cut CO2, NOx, and particulate matter emissions, thereby advancing European leadership in efficient transportation.

2. Empowering SMEs for Innovation: Recognizing the critical role of SMEs in supply chains and their importance in addressing industry challenges, the project focuses on enhancing the involvement of smaller players in innovation activities. The Transmetrics Project introduces a disruptive cloud-based solution that brings advanced capacity forecasting capabilities within reach of mid-size cargo transport operators in the logistics industry. This technology is a game-changer for SMEs, providing them with accessible and innovative IT solutions. By optimizing services, reducing unused capacity, and increasing profit margins, the project actively contributes to the empowerment of SMEs in the logistics industry.

Project funding:

The total budget of the Transmetrics Project is 4 774 058.79 BGN for a 24-month period, with 3 341 841.14 BGN coming from the Next Generation EU grant and the remaining 1,432,217.65 BGN co-funded through the current company’s revenue.

Transmetrics has historically financed operations through VC and business angels’ investments, as well as our revenues that will also be used to fund the commercialization stage. Our investors have already shown their willingness to support Transmetrics and the Transmetrics project by providing follow-on funding to support the commercialization phase, after receiving a Next Generation EU grant for the development and trials.

We currently have 50 employees and are looking to hire at least 5 additional employees during the duration of the Transmetrics Project. We intend to hire experts in the areas of software engineering, data science, data engineering, user experience and user interface, and technical support.
